What is "Photo Storytelling Journey," a group photo event?
Minami-Izu Town, the southernmost town on the Izu Peninsula, is home to a number of inspiring photojournalistic spots where the spectacular topography, which still bears traces of crustal deformation, is in harmony with the lifestyle of the people who live there. In particular, the small "villages" scattered along the coastline and in the mountains have a unique charm that makes you forget about time and immerse yourself in photography, as if time has stopped.
The "Photo Storytelling Trip" is a group photography event with overnight accommodations that focuses on such "villages" in Minami-Izu Town and allows participants to enjoy the charm of a "different everyday life" from their own. With a lecture on photography by a professional photographer, everyone from beginners to intermediate photographers can participate with confidence. Please fully enjoy the excitement that can only be shared with other photography enthusiasts in a special setting.
Storytelling is the art of telling a story. It is a method of storytelling that not only conveys information, but also uses "stories" to evoke empathy and emotion in the listener. Photo Storytelling Journey" is a journey to enjoy "self-expression" through photography by expressing storytelling using "photography (visual)".
July (vol. 5): The Charm of Koura, a Fisherman's Town Colored by the Memories of Kazaeminato
The theme this time is "Koura, a fisherman's town colored by the memory of Kazeminato. The calm waves of Koura Beach flourished as a "wind-waiting port" from the Edo period (1603-1868) to the early Meiji period (1868-1912). The nostalgic atmosphere of the alleys of Koura offers many spots where you will be tempted to take pictures, and you can take your time to capture its unique charm. For sunset photography, which is very popular, e-bike cycling will take you to the most spectacular spots. The sunset will dye the entire landscape, and you can enjoy a memorable time through photography and cycling.
