Based in Nakadomari-cho, Kitatsugaru-gun, Aomori Prefecture, "Shachu," a sole proprietorship that develops new local products and collaborates with other companies, has produced "standard T-shirts of thick fabric" and light and easy-to-wear "big silhouette T-shirts" as the first phase of the Osamu Dazai Graffiti Project, using an illustration drawn by Osamu Dazai himself, the most popular illustration ever produced by Shachu, as an icon. The first project is a "thick fabric standard T-shirt" and a "big silhouette T-shirt," which is lightweight and easy to wear.

Those who support the project and make a purchase on Makuake between June 7 and July 30 will have a tag stitched on the left sleeve of their T-shirt in the trendy green color of 2025. This is sewn on one by one by volunteers.

We hope to increase the number of fans by letting people know Osamu Dazai not only from a literary aspect but also from a new aspect, and in the future, we hope to increase the number of tourists to Aomori.

When he was a student, Osamu Dazai put a lot of effort into both writing and illustrating.

It is said that the deformed and cute cover picture of a coterie magazine called Bungei Jyutaku (literary cell), which Dazai Osamu produced before him, was an illustration drawn by Dazai Osamu.

We have been producing Dazai Osamu goods with the approval of the Hirosaki University Library, where the illustrations are kept, and the descendants of the original owners of the illustrations.

The new series of "Osamu Dazai Graffiti Project," which will be launched this time on Makemake, consists of two types of T-shirts with the most iconic and cute designs among the goods we have so far produced.

This T-shirt can be worn easily by anyone regardless of age or gender, and although it uses a slightly thicker fabric that is hard to see through, even in white, it is not stiff and easy to wear.

Nowadays, Osamu Dazai is depicted in anime and other forms of media, and he is becoming popular among young people, and many of them have become fans of the great writer.

However, the percentage of people in their 30s and older who read books is declining every year, and the number of people who have direct access to Osamu Dazai's writings is also decreasing.

Therefore, we are taking on this project with the hope of increasing the number of fans from a new angle and increasing the number of people who come to Aomori for sightseeing.

Wearing illustrations from Osamu Dazai's student days, the backbone of his many works, means wearing his stories, in which he devoted himself to both writing and illustrating.

One postcard-sized certificate will also be included with each T-shirt. This certificate is also printed with the same illustration as the T-shirt and is recommended for interior decoration.
