Chubu Snow Alliance Co. (Head office: 3086-1, Nishidora, Takawasi-cho, Gujo, Gifu 501-5305, Japan / Representative Director: Shinzui Taga) will open "Hirugano Picnic Garden," a highland resort where visitors can enjoy outdoor activities, at the Hirugano Highland ski resort in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture on Saturday, July 12, 2025. This season, a new activity, "mountain carts," which originated in Germany, will be introduced! Visitors can enjoy an engine-less downhill cart on a specially designed course with an elevation difference of 150 meters.

The Flower Area, located 1,000 meters above sea level, will also feature a colorful flower garden this season. Four varieties of petunias, centering on the ever-popular "Peach Breath," and "New Guinea Impatiens," which will make its first appearance in the picnic garden, will add color to the flower garden, also in four different colors. From this flower area, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Dainichigatake and the Hakusan mountain range from the Momoiro Terrace & Café, where they can enjoy drinks and sweets while admiring the spectacular natural scenery. The facility also offers outdoor activities such as zip-lining, ATVs, and mountain biking, as well as trampolines and basketball goals in the base area for the casual enjoyment of children and adults.

The engineless downhill cart was born in the mountains of Bavaria, Germany, and has been introduced in 30 countries around the world. This new vehicle boasts high stability thanks to its low center of gravity and wide tread. Visitors can enjoy a special course with an elevation difference of approximately 150 meters and a driving distance of 1.5 km from the top of the mountain to the base area of the Hirugano Picnic Garden, in a rich natural setting.

This season, four varieties of petunias (12,000 plants, 3,000m2), four varieties of impatiens (6,800 plants, 3,000m2), a thousand-day red (7,800 plants, 2,700m2), and kochia (6,000 plants, 6,000m2) with its lovely plump shape, will be planted. You can admire them at the summit area against the backdrop of the magnificent mountain range.
