History of Shinjuku Aguraya
Aguraya was established in 1974 in the Kabukicho district of Shinjuku, Tokyo, with the wish that our customers "sit cross-legged and casually enjoy" in the name of our restaurant. Located near the former Shinjuku Koma Theater, it has become a popular restaurant visited by many celebrities and food connoisseurs.
The restaurant offers a wide variety of dishes including the famous suppon (soft-shelled turtle), fugu (blowfish) in winter, and a monthly course recommended by the chef using seasonal ingredients, all prepared with the skill of our chefs.

In recent years, the number of customers from overseas has been increasing, and the "taste" and "hospitality" of Shinjuku Aguraya have spun an important bond. For example, a couple from Spain who visit Japan every year fell in love with Shinjuku Aguraya and have been coming to our restaurant every year for more than 10 years. When the owner and chef visited Spain in May 2024, they were guided around the restaurant every day during their stay, creating a warm exchange that goes beyond business.
