Kintetsu World Express Receives SBTi Approval for Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Targets
株式会社近鉄エクスプレス
Kintetsu World Express, Inc. (Tokyo, Japan) is pleased to announce that it has been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) for its near and long-term net-zero science-based greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
SBTi was established in 2015 as a joint initiative of the UNGC, WWF, WRI, and CDP, and aims to mitigate the global average temperature rise caused by climate change to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. To achieve this goal, SBTi encourages companies to set greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets based on scientific knowledge and evidence. SBTi certification is a global standard that recognizes companies for their concrete efforts to decarbonize.
In August 2023, we submitted a letter of commitment to SBTi and have been working since then to verify our greenhouse gas emissions data worldwide and set reduction targets along with concrete and effective reduction measures.
