Event organizer NICE TAKASHI, in collaboration with beatbox world champion COLAPS, will hold a showcase event "COLATAPA" at Shibuya CLUB HARLEM on Saturday, November 8, 2025, where world-class beatbox artists will gather. will be held at CLUB HARLEM in Shibuya.

This event will be held just after the world's largest beatbox world championship "GBB (Grand Beatbox Battle)" was held at EX THEATER ROPPONGI from October 31 to November 2, welcoming top artists from Japan to Shibuya.

In addition to a spectacular lineup including current and past world champions, a sampling exhibition battle will be held between four artists selected from the performers.

Original T-shirts and stickers will be available for purchase at the venue.

Why are the world champions gathering in Shibuya now?

NICE TAKASHI was introduced to beatboxing about 4 years ago through the videos of Rofu, a human beatbox tag team member. Having never had any major hobbies before, my life in my early 50s changed drastically, and I became more and more devoted to this culture as I went to events all over Japan. In the process, I was confronted with the loss-making structure of event management and the industrial issues that make it difficult for players to make a living from music. In addition, overseas artists often had to pay their own travel expenses, which meant that they were not fully rewarded even though they had made the effort to come to Japan.

That is why, from the standpoint of being involved in the restaurant business, we have been providing hospitality at our restaurants with the hope that they will "at least taste delicious yakiniku and sushi while they are in Japan" and "come to love Japan. The accumulation of these efforts has become the foundation for expanding trust and relationships with the community.

Thus, in 2024, to commemorate his 50th birthday, he held a party "#Naitapa" at Shibuya CLUB HARLEM, inviting top Japanese and international guests, which was a great success. And in 2025, we decided to hold a co-hosted event to celebrate the World Champion COLAPS's move to Japan.

With the background that the world championship GBB has been on a continuous trend of being held in Japan since GBB23, we designed the event to take advantage of the timing of the gathering of top players in Japan. In addition, with the cooperation of TV Asahi Music, visa support has been arranged to ease the burden on the artists.

COLATAPA aims to convey the appeal of beatbox culture, which is still not widely known, through the world's top showcase, and to build "a future where people can live by music" together.

■Collection of Past & Present World Champions

The core of COLATAPA is twofold. One is that it is an extremely rare opportunity to bring together top artists, including past and present world champions. The second is that COLATAPA will be held in a venue for 400 people, whereas the World Championships are held for 2,000 to 3,000 people, so that the audience can fully experience the power and appeal of beatboxing through all five senses.

COLAPS, former world champions in both solo and tag team, who relocated to Japan this year, will collaborate with Poppin' Dancer Yuta (who has appeared in this year's Pocari Sweat commercials) to present a one-of-a-kind stage of physical expression and human beatboxing.

The duo Jairo, who became tag-team world champions in GBB24 and have attracted national and international attention, including TV appearances; SyJo, world champion in the GBB23 producer category and always at the forefront of loop stations; and Yaswede, champion in the GBB24 loop station category.

In addition, ABO ICE, the Saudi Arabian champion and 4th in the world in GBB24, NOVEL VINTAGE, which has been exciting the scene nationwide with its HIP HOP sound and strong groove, and Codfish, which returned to the international stage after a 4-year blank and was the runner-up in the recent Oceania competition and qualified for the world competition. GBB18 champion Codfish will round out the lineup.

THE BEATBOX HOUSE, an elite American crew that recorded a first-place qualifying finish at this year's GBB25, will also be showcasing a collaboration between JENE, the 2023 Japan solo champion, and DJ RION, a young champion with a proven track record in international DJ competitions.

The opening acts will be former Japan champion TATSUAKI, who have both won the "Heavenly Resonance 2.0" competition, and rapper ANJI, who has won numerous competitions.

In addition to the showcase, a sampling exhibition battle will also be held between four selected performers, who will perform an impromptu beatbox performance of a song presented by the DJ.

NaPoM, a world-class player, will be the DJ, and Kenny Urban, Rio Matsushima, and Satsumaage will be the MCs.
