Background of the release
In recent years, shipments of sake in one-sho bottles have been on the decline, and demand has been rising for small-volume products that can be enjoyed easily at home or by individuals. We have developed small-volume versions of existing popular products in the hope of making sake more accessible and more freely enjoyed.
Furthermore, they are ideal as personalized gifts to express gratitude on Mother's Day, Father's Day, Respect-for-Senior-Citizens Day, and other occasions. The small volume makes the product luxurious yet easy to pick up and use as a gift for loved ones. The easy-to-carry size also matches the demand for souvenirs at sightseeing spots. It can be easily enjoyed by tourists as a bottle to add color to their travel memories.
Yoshinori Shimada, President and Representative Director
We planned to launch two small-volume products for three reasons: to meet changing consumer needs (small-quantity consumption, increase in one-person households, and demand for comparison drinks), to preserve shelf life and quality, and to meet gift and souvenir demand. Preliminary research leading up to the launch confirmed that, in addition to these reasons, the products would meet the needs of overseas markets and inbound demand, be easily placed on the shelves of supermarkets and convenience stores, and meet commercial demand, such as in hotel minibars. We believe that the introduction of small-volume products can serve as "gateway products" for young and light users to try sake.
