Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Cuebus Corporation's CUEBUS urban multi-story robot warehouse was adopted

Preliminary presentation at Japan Mobility Show 2025 (10/30-)

Cuebus株式会社

Cuebus Corporation (Taito-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Katsuhiro Okubo), provider of the CUEBUS* urban multi-level robotic warehouse system, has been selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism to conduct "Use Case 2: Main Line Single Road Section: Automated Travel of Transport Equipment" in the "FY2025 Demonstration Experiment for the Social Implementation of Automatic Logistics Roads. (Katsuhiro Okubo) has been selected by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as the implementer of "Use Case 2: Automated Traveling of Transport Equipment on Single-Lane Main Roads" in the "FY2025 Automated Logistics Road Implementation Demonstration Experiment.

*Even in ultra-high-density storage, all units operate simultaneously to achieve ultra-high take-out efficiency. Uniquely developed linear motors capable of running in all directions are the core technology.

The purpose of this demonstration test is to verify technical issues and sort out operational conditions for CUEBUS as an automated cargo transport device on the 500 km automated logistics road between Tokyo and Osaka.

MHI has been contributing to the streamlining of logistics and manpower saving by utilizing its automated transport technology cultivated through the development of the CUEBUS, an urban multi-level robotic warehouse. In the verification experiment, in addition to automation in warehouses, we will participate in the new area of "automation of long-distance transportation" and take on the challenge of building a next-generation logistics infrastructure.

What is an automated logistics road?

Autoflow Road is a new logistics system in which a dedicated space for logistics is created in the road space, and cargo is transported by unmanned and automated means of transportation powered by clean energy. It aims to respond to social changes such as the logistics crisis and the realization of carbon neutrality.

Automated logistics roads are a large-scale national project to build a next-generation infrastructure network, with an expected investment of hundreds of billions to trillions of yen. MHI views its participation in this project as an important opportunity to make a leap forward as a leading company in the logistics industry. Through the verification experiment, we will ensure that automated logistics roads are implemented in society, thereby alleviating the growing transportation capacity shortage and creating an economic impact of several hundred billion yen per year through logistics cost reductions.

About Cuebus Co.

Cuebus develops and provides the CUEBUS, an urban multi-story robot warehouse that uses a proprietary linear motor as its core technology that enables omni-directional travel.

CUEBUS is the world's only urban multi-story robotic warehouse system that achieves (1) ultra-high storage efficiency (no need for aisles and storage right up to the ceiling), (2) ultra-high throughput (all shelves can be moved simultaneously and instantly), and (3) ultra-flexibility (simple configuration that anyone can easily install anywhere in a short time). The world's only urban multi-story robotic warehouse system.

Furthermore, Cuebus also develops and provides integrated software, including warehouse management systems and business applications, in-house. By leveraging the strength of its integrated hardware and software platform, Cuebus contributes to solving industry issues such as productivity improvements and labor shortages at logistics sites.
