Milano Salone

Lumiframe" is a highly design-oriented light system created through a collaboration between Aluna, an aluminum picture frame manufacturer, and up-and-coming designer Akira Hojo.

A prototype was exhibited at the Milano Salone in Milan, Italy, in April 2025. The simple design with crosswise curves and versatile usage such as placing, hanging, and propping up were well received by overseas buyers and consumers.

Lumiframe

Lumiframe redefines the culture of "decorating" cultivated as a picture frame manufacturer as an interior product.

The use of extrusion molding allows for a wide variety of lengths and dimensions, and allows for free installation, such as placing, hanging, and standing.

The structure can be disassembled into a single material for easy maintenance and environmental friendliness.

Inspired by the beautiful cross section of extruded aluminum, the product combines functionality and design.

It offers a new form of light that can accompany people in their daily lives.

A simple structure is adopted in which the light source is inserted into the extruded material. The use of resin is kept to a minimum without the use of a base or shade, making this an environmentally friendly product.

Akira Hojo

Akira Hojo is a product designer based in Tokyo, Japan, who majored in product design at Kanazawa College of Art.

Focusing on "what kind of experience do you want people to have", he develops and presents products. While searching for what is the essence of the product, he designs with the user at the center and seeks to create products that are essential and pure.
