THE GAME Production Summary
THE GAME" is a flamenco collaboration between Jesús Carmona (dancer, choreographer), José Valencia (flamenco singer), and Juan Requena (flamenco guitarist, composer). It is the most "flamenco" of Jesús Carmona's works. And when Jesús Carmona was nominated for the Benoit Prize, it was for this work, THE GAME. The three adult men seriously play with flamenco, sometimes comically so, and the image of flamenco, often described with words like "suffering," "passion," and "persecution," is not only a reflection of the flamenco movement, but also a reflection of the way flamenco is performed. The three play flamenco for real, sometimes in a comical way. However, flamenco was originally nurtured in the lives of the Hitano (Roma), and was a way for people to gather and enjoy themselves. This film allows us to fully experience the joy of flamenco. The three top stars of flamenco play a game that is overwhelming in its artistry, playfulness, and everything else. We hope you will enjoy it on the theater screen.

Profile: Jesús Carmona
The most important dancer and choreographer in flamenco today. Former Primer Bailarin (first dancer) of the Spanish National Ballet. The New York Times called him "a flamenco genius. He has been called a "Danzaor" (*) because he is an entity that cannot be contained in either flamenco or Spanish dance.
Awards: Spanish National Dance Prize, Benoit Prize, MAX Prize, Madrid Culture Prize, Latin UK Award
The name "Danzaor" is the masculine form of the word Danza (dance), which was coined by Rocío Molina from Danza (dance) and Bailaora (female flamenco dancer). This special name is rarely used for artists other than Rocio Molina and Jesús Carmona.
