What is Future Story?
Future Story is a hands-on, interactive business training program in which participants become the protagonists of a story.
Participants become the protagonist of a fictitious company and are in charge of new business development. Participants can acquire more practical skills by making their own choices and taking action in a series of processes such as market research, product development, presentation, and human resource management.
Participants are awarded "coins (points)" for their choices and actions, and the number of coins is competed among the group. This competitive element increases participants' motivation to learn and improves their focus on the training.

Background of Development
Conventional corporate training programs are focused on classroom lectures, making it difficult to apply them to practical work. To address this issue, Tofusha Co., Ltd. developed "Sweet Market," a board game training program incorporating experiential learning and gamification that enables participants to learn about marketing in 2024.
The board game training was so well received that we considered "business development" training as the next theme. The "game" format, in which players compete against each other, was changed to a "story" format that facilitates immersion in learning, and Future Story, which incorporates gamification, was born.
Features and Benefits
Immersive story format: You can simulate realistic situations and decision-making as a character in a story. Students learn technical terms and knowledge through the story, which naturally deepens their understanding.
Active interactivity: Students learn diverse viewpoints through discussions with the instructor and other participants. Because your choices are directly related to your score, discussions are more active than in general training.
Learning through evaluation and reflection: Participants reflect on the factors of success or failure through coin scoring and commentary from the instructor. Selections and actions are visualized as scores, increasing the motivation to learn.
Main target audience
Young and mid-career employees who want to be entrusted with (new) business development in the future
Young and mid-career employees who want to broaden their business horizons and gain a higher perspective.
Companies that want to start a new business but are still considering where to start.
Recommended for companies and organizations that want to learn about management strategy, business development, and marketing in a practical way.
Although the story takes place at a machinery manufacturer, any type of industry or occupation is welcome.
How to proceed with Future Story
Participants will work in groups of 3-5. Participants are divided into groups of 3-5.
As in a typical training program, the instructor will present a story or lecture based on slides.
There are three main parts
Story ... You will simulate a story as a person in charge of new business development.
Lecture ... The lecturer gives a lecture or explanation as the story progresses, just as in a general training program.
Challenges ... Participants try "choice-type questions," "free-response questions," "presentations," and so on. Coins are earned or lost depending on the choices and answers.
Example of a multiple-choice question: "Which of the four options does not fit the company's 3C analysis?
