On October 13, 2025, the 8th Hyogo Prefecture Citizens' Forum on Fundamental Human Rights was held in Himeji City.
At this forum, people from religious organizations, support groups, and researchers took the stage to discuss past cases and issues on the theme of faith and human rights.
■Profile of Toru Goto
Born in 1963. Born in Tokyo. His experience as a victim of long-term confinement led him to engage in educational activities to protect human rights.
In 2015, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff in a civil lawsuit related to confinement. Currently, as a representative of the National Association of Victims of Abduction, Confinement, and Forced Conversion, she continues to give lectures and write articles to raise awareness of human rights.
