WAYO Kudan Girls' High School, FY2026 Future Design Course to be newly established, resulting in a three-course system

WAYO Kudan Girls' Junior and Senior High School (Location: Kudan-kita, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Principal: Osamu Mizuno) will establish a new high school course and begin accepting students from the 2026 academic year. This reform is aimed at enhancing education that responds to the diverse career paths and careers of women, while building on the historical accumulation of women's education.

■Characteristics of education in the three years from high school

In the upper secondary school curriculum, a "course system" is adopted according to the career path that students are aiming for, and all courses are enriched with project-based activities, social contribution programs (SDGs-related), and "inquiry activities" that respond to global society.

In addition, English test preparation classes (TS) have been established in the "Future Design Course" and "Global Course" to help students acquire the necessary qualifications for university entrance examinations, etc.

■Three Course System

The following three courses will be offered at the upper secondary school. All courses are based on the school's founding spirit (the school motto: "Look ahead and be ready") and emphasize future-oriented learning and the development of human skills.

1) Future Design Course (newly established)

Students will acquire the ability to design their own learning and act independently toward a "future" that will lead them to "who they want to be. We will cultivate leaders who have both creative and practical abilities while deepening their interests through design thinking and experiential learning. Students are expected to enter national, public, and private universities in the humanities and sciences.

2) Global Course

Native English-speaking assistant homeroom teachers conduct homeroom activities in English. In the second and third year Global Exploration classes, students are taught to face international social issues such as the SDGs and develop the ability to think about solutions to these issues. Students can choose to study at an overseas university or a domestic university where they study in English.

3) Science Course

In the first year, students acquire basic knowledge and experimental skills, and from the second year, they study specialized fields in depth to enhance their scientific thinking skills. Students are expected to go on to advanced science, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, and veterinary colleges.
