ZAMA GOLF Driving Range (Zama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, hereinafter ZAMA GOLF) will hold "ZAMA GOLF Night Illumination 2025" at the 6th hole of the Short Course every day from Saturday, December 6, 2025 to the end of February, 2026.

From sunset to 10:00 p.m., the fairway is enveloped in approximately 10,000 lights, making it a rare experience-type illumination in Japan where visitors can enjoy not "viewing" but "playing" the course itself.

Aiming to become a new tourist attraction in Zama City

ZAMA GOLF underwent its first major renovation in 2024, the 55th anniversary of its opening.

It is available for night-time use throughout the year, and is used by many people after work.

On the other hand, golf has a strong image as a daytime sport, and people have tended to avoid practicing and playing golf at night, especially in winter, because of the "cold" and "dark" conditions.

Therefore, we wondered if we could offer an "extraordinary and active experience" that is possible only on a "cold winter night.

By combining the "beauty" of illumination with the "immersive experience" of a short game, we hope to create a new way to enjoy golf at night, and to make the course a new tourist attraction for Zama City and the region.

Why is "playing in the light" unusual?

There are two difficulties in realizing "enjoying illumination while playing golf" on a golf course.

First, you cannot use net lights (net lights laid on the ground) on the fairways or in the rough because the ball may ride on them.

Second, taking into account the possibility of the ball hitting and breaking, the lights to be used must also be restricted.

ZAMA GOLF overcame these difficulties by holding in-depth discussions with the lighting designer to see if there was a way for customers to still enjoy this winter tradition.
