The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which connects Toyama and Nagano Prefectures, will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2026!

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route (operated by Tateyama Kurobe Kanko Co., Ltd., headquartered in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture), one of the world's leading mountain tourism routes connecting Toyama and Nagano Prefectures, will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2026 since its full opening in 1971. We will continue to provide "new and exciting experiences at any time" through a variety of contents, while conveying the progress made so far and our gratitude and desire to carry on the traditions of nature. To mark this milestone, we have created a logo mark for the 55th anniversary and launched a special website.

About the 55th anniversary logo

The logo mark features a parent and child of a grouse that has survived the unchanging nature of Tateyama Kurobe while using "green" and "blue" as the base color to evoke the image of the mountain range, Mikuriga-ike Pond, Kurobe Dam, and spring water. The design warmly expresses the charm of the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route, which continues to be close to the memories of various generations and people.

About the 55th Anniversary Special Site

A special website celebrating the 55th anniversary will be opened today, December 2, 2025 (Tuesday). The site will introduce the history of the company and provide information on events and campaigns commemorating the 55th anniversary.

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route offers a variety of ways to enjoy the area throughout the season.

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is open from mid-April to the end of November every year. In spring, the season begins with the spectacular "Yuki-no-Otani" snow wall. In summer, the route is used as a mountain climbing and summer resort, in autumn, the leaves begin to change color earlier than anywhere else in Japan, and in winter, the quiet and beautiful fresh snowfalls are a constant source of enjoyment.

What is the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route?

The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is one of the world's most famous mountain tourism routes located in Tateyama, Chubu-Sangaku National Park. The section between Tateyama Station in Toyama Prefecture and Ogisawa in Nagano Prefecture is accessible by cable car, bus, ropeway, and six other vehicles, allowing visitors to easily enjoy the spectacular views of the 3,000-meter-high Tateyama Mountain Range and Kurobe Dam.
