Mariko Mabuchi is the President of the Japan Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies and a Visiting Associate Professor at Osaka Public University. She holds a master's degree from Kyoto University School of Public Policy.

As a trader, she was responsible for corporate asset management. After working as a senior analyst in the financial media, she currently serves as Representative Director of the Japan Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, where she conducts research on corporate value enhancement in collaboration with universities. He is an outside director of eGuarantee. He is also an outside director of Rakurakucho.
