Seasonal Store Creation Brings Smiles to Customers and Staff Seiyo-Ken Now Holding "D-1 Grand Prix" In-store Decorating Event
株式会社ZEN
Kurume Ramen Seiyoken has been holding the "D-1 Grand Prix (Display Grand Prix)" in-store decoration event since 2024.
In this event, each store competes with each other to create the most attractive in-store decoration for each season, and the store with the most attractive display throughout the year is awarded the prize.
Creating a store experience that keeps customers coming back for more with seasonal displays
The D-1 Grand Prix is held five times throughout the year, with a different theme for each season.
Starting with "Dolls' Festival" in the spring, the event continues with "Children's Day," "Summer Holiday," "Halloween," and "Christmas" at the end of the year.
Each store brings its own ideas and decorates not only the store interior, but also the staff's nameplates and other small items, all handmade and elaborately decorated to bring a sense of "seasonality" and "fun" to customers. We deliver a sense of "seasonality" and "fun" to customers who visit our stores.
Typical examples of monthly themed decorations
March: Hinamatsuri (Girls' Festival) Peach blossoms and hina doll decorations
May: Children's Day Koinobori (carp streamers) and Kabuto (samurai helmets) decorations
July: Summer vacation, wind chimes and seashell motifs
October Halloween Pumpkins and ghost decorations
December Christmas Red and green decorations and illumination
Decorations have also become an "in-house event" that fosters a sense of unity among staff members
Decorations are created through the collaborative efforts of staff members.
By working together to come up with ideas and create the decorations, we promote stronger teamwork and a shared sense of accomplishment within the store.
There is also an award system for decorations throughout the year, and because everyone can participate while having fun, natural communication between staff and customers is created.
Many customers take pictures before and after their meals, and we receive comments such as "the atmosphere is cute" and "I'm glad to feel the season," as well as unexpected comments from small children such as "it's too realistic and scary.

■Examples of Ingenious Efforts
At some stores, in addition to in-store decorations, staff name plates are decorated with seasonal motifs, and origami gifts are distributed to children.
This event has been well received as an event that both staff and customers can enjoy together.
Sales and return visit rates have also increased. Creating Spaces that Move Customers' Hearts and Minds
Since the introduction of the D-1 Grand Prix, sales have increased approximately 5-10% year-on-year, and the decoration event has had a positive impact on both customer attraction and repeat business.
Many customers, both adults and children, have expressed their delight by saying, "I look forward to seeing the decorations every time," and "My children are so happy they want to come back again.
The "extraordinary feeling" and "hospitality" provided by the decorations have increased the motivation to visit the store.
The store staff also voiced the following comments, indicating a high level of satisfaction both inside and outside the company.
It makes me happy to see the smiles on the customers' faces when they see how we make things better.
"Creating decorations enhances the sense of team unity.
■ Highlights of the Christmas decorations that are being held right now
This month, Christmas decorations are in full swing at each store.
Red and green ribbons and ornaments on the walls and counters welcome customers with warm, handmade decorations.
With this in mind, Kurume Ramen Seiyoke's Winter D-1 Grand Prix is now underway.
Future Prospects
Kurume Ramen Seiyoken will continue to provide customers with not only the time to enjoy ramen, but also the quality experience of spending time at the restaurant itself. We will continue to strive to create restaurants that are loved by the community.
