<Michi no Eki Sorat Makinohara A Christmas cake unique to the "town of tea" is now on sale! A limited-edition cake using Makinohara matcha (powdered green tea), "Onoicha Hatake Cake," is now available!

Michi no Eki Sorat Makinohara (Location: Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture; Operated by Mura no Eki Co., Ltd.), which opened in July 2025 as a food theme park to promote the attractions of the "town of tea," will release a limited edition Christmas cake using Makinohara matcha green tea, which is unique to the "town of tea," for the first Christmas. The "Roadside Station Solatto Makinohara" (located in Makinohara City, Shizuoka Prefecture, operated by Mura-no-Eki Co. The "Onoicha Hatake Roll" using Makinohara matcha and the "Onoicha Hatake Cake" inspired by the vast tea fields will be available at the sweets corner of the "Makinohara Satori Honten", the only store specializing in Onoicha in this station. Reservations will be accepted until noon on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, 2025.

Christmas this year is a weekday. We will deliver a carefully selected Christmas cake as a reward for a year of relaxation and forgetting about daily life during the busy season at the end of the year. About "Makinohara Tea Leaves," the pride of Makinohara City, a major tea production area

Makinohara City in Shizuoka Prefecture is a "tea town" boasting some of the largest tea plantations in Japan. The mild climate and long hours of sunlight are ideal for growing high-quality tea, and the city has approximately 2,610 hectares of tea plantations.

Makinohara tea leaves are carefully harvested for their soft buds and thick flesh. The tea leaves are then used in the "deep steaming" method unique to Makinohara tea to produce Makinohara matcha, a bright green tea with little bitterness or astringency and a mellow aroma. The long steeping process softens the astringency and brings out a mellow flavor.

This cake roll uses an abundance of Makinohara matcha green tea in the batter and cream.

The chantilly, which looks like the ridges of a tea plantation, is filled with cranberries and black beans, matcha custard cream, almond milk paste, and other ingredients matched with a sweet Satori crepe pastry.

This is a special Christmas cake made in our in-store workshop. Both items come with an original refrigerated bag!
