About Aura, a 3D skin analysis system

Aura is a system that uses a combination of multiple cameras and lighting to capture images of the entire face, enabling the skin condition to be confirmed as a 3D image.

What is the "3D Skin Data Art Project"?

This project is an attempt to reconstruct 3D skin data visualized by Aura as a "kind of portrait" and reconstruct it as a work of art.

(1) Creation of artworks using 3D skin data as a motif

Based on information such as the contours of the face and the unevenness of the skin's surface, the artist creates works of art as abstract visuals and three-dimensional objects.

The work will be expressed in a variety of forms, including digital images, 3D prints, and mixed media works.

(2) Expression of changes before and after a procedure as a "record of time

In aesthetic medicine, it is important to explain the changes before and after a procedure in an easy-to-understand manner.

By using Aura's 3D images, the changes can be easily confirmed in three dimensions.

This project aims to preserve the "record of one's own change" in a new form by expressing the "data of change" as a work of art.

(3) Personal 3D skin portraits (future development)

In the future, we are considering the concept of creating and offering one-of-a-kind works of art (two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or digital) based on the Aura data of applicants.

However, this will be separated from diagnosis and treatment as medical treatment, and will focus on the aspect of artwork.

Nobu Suetake has been involved in clinical practice as a cosmetic surgeon for many years, and has also been active in many other fields, including autonomic nervous system research, sports medicine, and regenerative medicine.
