What is "Substrate Art Masking Tape"?

Substrate Art Masking Tape" is a masking tape that precisely reproduces printed circuit boards. The printed circuit board is incorporated into the form of masking tape that can be used in daily life, and the design is enjoyable both to look at and to apply. The tape is manufactured in Japan by Kamoi Kakoshi, a company widely known for its "mt" masking tape brand, utilizing paper processing and adhesive technologies cultivated over many years. These products are made in Japan, and can be used with confidence in terms of quality.

Japanese paper is used as the material. We challenged the minimum line width that can be printed on Japanese paper, and faithfully reproduced even extremely fine wiring patterns and silk letters.

While letterpress printing is usually used for masking tape, offset printing is used for this product. This enables stable printing so that fine patterns and silks are not crushed.

Design and functionality

In terms of design, wiring patterns and footprints of electronic components such as ICs, resistors, and capacitors are arranged.

On some components, the silk of the component name is replaced with "moeco JAPAN" and on other components, the "m" of the brand logo is placed, adding an element of playfulness that we are always conscious of as a PCB art sundry brand.

The color design uses a total of four colors: gold for the pad, deep green for the resist-only area, light green for the patterned area, and white (the original color of Japanese paper) for the silk lettering, to express the board.

In particular, special gold ink is used for the pad portion, which reflects elegantly depending on the way the light hits it, adding a subtle sense of luxury to the overall design.

The repeating design ensures that the pattern will not be interrupted no matter where the tape is cut.
