ROY Corporation to Give Lecture at Indonesia's National University of Education Lecture for Construction Management Human Resource Development at Indonesia's National University of Education

ROY Corporation (Head office: Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director: Ryuji Oishi), through an introduction by its business partner, Indonesia Research Institute, conducted a one-hour lecture on December 17, 2025 at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Indonesia's National University of Education located in Bandung, Republic of Indonesia. The purpose of this lecture was to give Indonesian young people who wish to work in Japan a concrete image of working in Japan under the status of residence of "Engineer/Humanities/International Services" (so-called "Gijin Kokoku").

ROY Corporation will continue to work with national universities to develop human resources who can work in Japan as construction management engineers.

Future efforts in cooperation with universities to train Indonesian human resources who aim to work in Japan

ROY Corporation will collaborate with UPI and other Indonesian national universities to develop a new educational curriculum for students majoring in civil engineering.

In addition to Japanese language education at the N2 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, which includes technical terms in the construction field, this curriculum will improve communication and problem-solving skills through active learning. The curriculum will also support the acquisition of the knowledge required to pass the first level of the Construction Management Engineer Level 2 examination and the writing skills required to pass the second level of the examination, with the aim of helping students acquire qualifications that will facilitate their employment in the construction industry in Japan.

In order to realize these educational contents, this educational program will be promoted with the cooperation of the Indonesia Research Institute Corporation, which has expertise in the field of education and human resource development in Indonesia.

In addition, the ROY Architectural Training Center in Karawang, West Java, Indonesia, will provide students with practical learning opportunities at actual construction sites. Using scaffolding, interior design, roof repair, painting, and other construction sites as subjects, trainees will gain a concrete understanding of the materials used, the roles of craftsmen, the flow of the process, the effects of rain, and other points to be checked in advance as a construction management engineer.

In this way, the program aims not only to acquire knowledge, but also to promote understanding and enhance the image of the construction management engineer profession through experience in an environment similar to that of a Japanese construction site. After graduating from university, students will gain one year of on-site experience in construction management at ROY Corporation, with the aim of acquiring a level 2 construction management engineer certification.

This program is expected to provide Indonesian youth with a concrete path to work in the Japanese construction industry, and also to open up new options for the Japanese construction industry to secure international human resources in the construction management field.

■Collaboration with Other Universities

In addition to UPI, SANGGA BUANA UNIVERSITY and PARAHYANGAN CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY (UNPAR) plan to launch similar programs for civil engineering students.

Through the provision of an educational environment that includes the development of a curriculum that provides Japanese language education from the first year of university, internship education in Japan in the second and third years of university, and preparation for the departmental examination to obtain a level 2 construction management engineer certificate, a framework for the development of advanced human resources with a view to employment in Japan will be established.

Through these efforts, we will further expand the system for accepting highly specialized human resources who wish to work in Japan, with the cooperation of the Indonesia Research Institute Co.

About the Architectural Training Center

ROY Corporation has opened an architectural training center in Indonesia to address the growing shortage of labor in the construction industry as a whole. The facility aims to develop human resources with practical skills by providing comprehensive education in the specialized craftsmanship and Japanese language required in Japan.
