1. background: not to lower "customer satisfaction" even in the face of high prices and sharply rising procurement costs
We have focused on the current situation where declining sales and profits and soaring prices are becoming social problems, and offer a method of using points as a tool to solve these problems, rather than just as a "discount".
Yakitori Ayumu Jiyugaoka" considered the introduction of points as a way to "make our valued customers even happier" rather than simply passing on prices in response to the "rapid rise in purchase prices" caused by high prices. 2.
Store Overview: Specializing in Yakitori, but offering an assortment of items that cannot be found anywhere else
Yakitori Ayumu Jiyugaoka is a restaurant located on the 2nd floor of Isegen Building, 1-3-4 Jiyugaoka, Meguro-ku, Tokyo, serving yakitori. It is a restaurant specializing in serving "Aizu Jidori" for more than 20 years, which is a rare species of chicken indigenous to Fukushima Prefecture in Tokyo. In addition to yakitori, the restaurant offers a unique menu that includes seafood.
Features of A-GEL Gift Point & Card: Low fixed cost + "pay-as-you-go" contingency fee system
In considering the introduction of A-GEL Gift Point & Card, while other point services generally require an introduction fee or have high monthly costs, the following conditions encouraged the company to introduce A-GEL Gift Point & Card. 3-1.
3-1. Cost Conditions
Installation cost: 0 yen
● Monthly fee: 1,000 yen (currently in a free campaign)
Redemption rate: Up to 40% of points can be freely designed as "merchant's own original points," which can be set and changed by the merchant.
3-2. Concept of point crediting cost (draft description)
The merchant bears zero yen for "granting" points (the merchant bears zero yen even if points are granted).
Member stores pay a contingency fee of 0.3 yen (excluding tax) per point when a point is used at a store. 4.
Core of the mechanism: Create an incentive to come back to the store with a one-month expiration date and a "gift derivative" (gift).
Yakitori Ayumu Jiyugaoka" reportedly saw an immediate change after the introduction of the system.
The A-GEL gift point system is characterized by the following features,
Points are valid for one month.
A-GEL Gift Points can be used as a derivative gift any number of times within the period of validity, starting from the recipient (user) (* Derivative gifts are only available to registered members).
The recipient does not need to be a registered member to receive the gift, making it easy for even the uninitiated to receive it (it can also be received as lifestyle support points for the elderly, etc.).
This design creates a reason to visit the store by saying "let's use the points before they expire," and the gift derivation increases the contact points of "giving/being given to someone else," thus forming a lead-in to return visits to the store.
Change after introduction: Increase in return visits within one month + increase in additional orders
The number of customers who return to the store within a month has increased, and there are cases of customers coming back multiple times.
● Led to an increase in additional orders for one or two items
Increased communication with customers, as they said "thank you" more often.
Customers are now coming to the restaurant more than once a month. 6.
Our position: We are not a loyalty point company, but a "tool for success
We are not a loyalty point company, but a sales consulting company that uses points (A-GEL gift points) and coupon cards (A-GEL gift cards) as "tools" for success in order to solve problems in consulting.
7. coverage structure
This case study was interviewed by "Mr. Toshiharu Umezaki, three-time Record Award winner for music," who is also a member of the same merchant.
