Snow Festival & Chinese New Year Events Featuring Experiences Unique to Japan and Hokkaido
TANUKI KOJI and moyuk SAPPORO Strengthen Inbound Hospitality
札幌狸小路商店街振興組合、モユクサッポロ
The Sapporo TANUKI KOJI Shopping Street Promotion Association and moyuk SAPPORO will jointly host inbound-focused cultural experience events during two peak visitor periods: the Sapporo Snow Festival and Chinese New Year (February 6–8 and February 20–22).
During last year’s National Day holiday, visitor surveys revealed that travelers from more than 50 countries visited TANUKI KOJI in just three days—highlighting the district’s growing global recognition. moyuk SAPPORO has also seen steady increases in visitor numbers since opening.
Building on this momentum, this year’s programs have been expanded to help visitors “enjoy TANUKI KOJI in winter” through a variety of cultural experiences. The lineup includes TANUKI KOJI Taiko drumming, Yosakoi dance performances, live shows by local idol groups, photo sessions with the popular mascot Dakkopon, and a Japanese-style mochi-maki style event, where mini chocolates will be thrown instead of rice cakes.
Foreign-language information counters and visitor surveys will also be available to support enjoyable and memorable experiences while sharing the charm of Hokkaido.
