Teneru," a Kumiki Building Block for Expanding Playtime

Teneru" is a wooden educational toy that allows children to enjoy various shapes using simple H-shaped pieces of our original design. By not only piling up the pieces but also assembling and arranging them in various directions, users can play in a variety of ways while enjoying unexpected shapes and new discoveries. We hope that through play, children will develop their creativity, concentration, and ability to think by thinking and devising.

The characteristic H-shaped piece made of wood

The name "Teneru" is derived from the Latin word "tener," meaning "to hold" or "soft. Latin, which is also used for botanical terms, is an official language that has been handed down through the ages and across countries. We named the product "Teneru" in the hope that children's innate "soft" sensibility will lead to richer communication through playing with "Teneru".

Expanding the Range of Play as Children Grow

The set consists of 12 H-shaped pieces and 4 square pieces, for a total of 16 pieces, and the H-shaped pieces are made using the traditional woodworking method called "sanmaiku mitsugi," which allows for a high degree of freedom in combining the pieces. The simplicity of the design allows for a wide range of creativity as the child ages and grows, making the product enjoyable for a long time. While using their fingertips to feel the wood, children will naturally develop spatial awareness and concentration, and their creativity will be drawn out as much as possible.

This product is made of prefectural lumber grown in the forests of Gifu Prefecture. We are committed to a recycling-oriented manufacturing system in which trees are carefully used and returned to the forest. We created this product with the hope that people will feel the warmth of the wood while playing with it and imagine the forest beyond it.
