HORONIC Incorporated Association (Location: Higashinada-ku, Kobe, President: Ichiro Osada) will hold "Nijiiro Kids' Marché in Tarumi Ekimae", a job experience event in which children play a leading role, in front of Tarumi Station on March 21, 2026 (Saturday).

This event will be held as a place where children who attend the hotel for schoolchildren can open their accumulated learning and experiences to the local community and connect with society through their proactive involvement in planning, preparation and operation.

The Gakudo Hotel is working every day to provide children with a variety of "real experiences. The Marche is not simply an event, but rather a process of trial and error in which the children themselves discuss what to sell and how to make people happy, and then prepare for the event.

The event will include a "Children's Cafe" where children work in teams to serve customers and sell products, as well as workshops and booths set up by local communities and businesses. One of the main features of this event is that it is held in an open public space in front of Tarumi Station, creating a natural interaction with local residents and visitors.

Children's Involvement

Children participating in the event have been divided into teams and have decided on their own what they will sell and the division of roles. Not only on the day of the event, but also during the workshops and preparation period prior to the event, they have accumulated experience in discussing, cooperating, and taking on challenges. This event is an opportunity for the children to express these experiences in a tangible form, and provides a valuable opportunity for them to experience "working" and "being involved in society".

Future Prospects

The "Nijiiro Kids' Marché" is not a one-time event, but a milestone in the learning of the first batch of children, and we are considering holding the event on a regular basis as the second and third batch of children continue to participate.

In addition, the School Children's Hotel aims to use the Maiko initiative as a starting point and expand it to other Settlement locations, as well as to other hotels and regions in the future. We are not an institution specializing in education or childcare, but that is why we believe it is meaningful to practice "something like schoolchildren" in the hotel space, without being bound by the framework of what schoolchildren are.

We will continue to carefully build on the insights, relationships, and management innovations that emerge onsite and develop them into a system that can be replicated anywhere. We also envision a variety of other developments, including hands-on events for the general public during long vacations, hotels for school children that travel to corporations, and hands-on programs as part of employee welfare programs.

We hope to close the experience gap for children and provide a "safe third place" for both children and their parents. This non-profit initiative to connect with society will open up the value of the hotel and explore the future of the hotel.

What is a hotel for schoolchildren?

Children's everyday life is a series of "firsts. However, there are differences in the opportunities for children to experience these experiences depending on their family environment. The Hotel Setre Kobe Maiko was launched with the aim of narrowing this gap in experiences, even if only a little. We provide a place where children can find their "likes" and "strengths" through real work and encounters with people in the special space of a hotel. Furthermore, the sight of children spending time in a lively atmosphere provides peace of mind for their parents. As a "third place" where children can learn, experience, and interact with others, the Hotel for School-Age Children will spread the cycle of smiles in the community.
