Pelican Soap Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Nobukazu Shibui) will renew and launch in April 2026 "Dot Washy," a facial cleansing soap for pores (=*strawberry nose: a nose that looks like a strawberry due to clogged pores with sebum) that has shipped more than 1 million units since its launch in 2015.

We have been focusing on pore impurities for more than 10 years. The answer was a unique combination of clay and silk cocoons.

Ten years after its launch, we re-examined every anti-pore product on the market with the desire to make a product that would be more effective. As a result of our in-house research, we found that the natural material "Mayudama," which has been popular since ancient times, had the best balance between skin irritation and effectiveness. Mayudama has the property of gently removing unnecessary dirt while protecting the skin. By combining the physical care provided by these cocoon balls with mildly alkaline soap, we have arrived at a new formula that achieves a smooth, silky nose.

In this renewal, we have drastically reviewed the ingredients and the amount of ingredients, and achieved a 790% increase (*1) in the concentration of sebum dirt adsorbing ingredients compared to the previous formula. The product has been reborn as a "pore-clearing care set" that approaches stubborn pore dirt with a combination of "rich, dense lather" that adsorbs and cleanses pores, and "natural silk peeling" that can be polished with the fingers. The new design of the product package can be used as a "soap dish," offering a "a dedicated pore care routine" that can be started without worrying about where to put the soap.

Aiming to create a face wash that no longer resembles a "mud pack"

We carefully selected six kinds of mud ingredients (cleansing ingredients), including bentonite, montmorillonite, kaolin, pyrophyllite, Moroccan lava clay, and sea silt, to ensure that the amount of mud (clay) that absorbs dirt through ionic action is just right. The total amount of sebum adsorbing ingredients reaches a high concentration of 22.27%.

Special "silk peeling" once every three days

Wet the cocoon ball included in the set, put it on your finger, apply soap, and massage it around your nose to gently remove dead skin cells and keratin that cannot be removed by washing your face. The natural silk provides a luxurious self-care experience.

In addition to removing dirt and grime from pores, this product also contains luxurious ingredients that condition the skin after washing.

Exfoliative care: In addition to 3.00% weakly alkaline soda powder (cleaning auxiliary ingredient: sodium bicarbonate), charcoal and pineapple enzyme are included as cleaning auxiliary ingredients. Daily cleansing leaves every corner of the skin smooth and refreshed.

Rough skin care: Contains vitamin C (ascorbic acid) and glycyrrhizic acid 2K as skin conditioning ingredients, and moisturizing ingredients such as mugwort leaf extract, CICA (Centella Asiatica/stem extract), and tea tree leaf oil. Moisturizing plant-derived ingredients prevent rough skin.
