Six members of the town of Nakafurano, Hokkaido, including the Planning Division (Chief Executive: Yasushi Tsushima), Nakafurano Tourism Association Directors (KI・ZU・NA: Hiroshi Nakajima, Endo Farm: Yasuhito Endo), Local Activation Entrepreneurs (H.I.S: Hiroshi Sakai), and Regional Development Cooperation Team (Motoki Nakata, Satoko Omizu), will hold a two-day event as part of a town branding project in Osaka, Japan Morinomiya Q's Mall BASE on December 16-17, 2023, for a two-day event selling goods related to tourism and immigration.

Why Osaka?

Although the town has many residents from Osaka and other parts of the Kansai region, and "Furano" and "Kansai" were thought to have a high affinity, this is the first time that Nakafurano Town has held a product sales event involving tourism and immigration in the Kansai region by itself. When we were considering holding an event in the Kansai region, Mr. Takahisa Oyama of Natural Bridge, a company with which Nakafurano's farmer, Endo Farm, had long been connected, approached us! ■ Objective

The purpose of this event is to increase the number of people who visit Nakafurano by sharing the "Nakafurano Life" and tourist attractions of Nakafurano based on the actual experiences of businesses and local development cooperatives that have moved to the town. This event will be an opportunity to establish connections with restaurants in the Kansai region through food, and also with participants in order to build an ongoing relationship with the town, rather than just a transient "product event.

Contents of the event

On the day of the event, the town hall staff, farmers and businesses who are members of the Tourism Association, and local entrepreneurs and local development cooperatives who have moved to the area will offer agricultural products, baked goods, and gourmet foods using Nakafurano's products. A bingo tournament will be held, and a booth displaying snow from Hokkaido will also be held. Visitors can experience "Nakafu Life," a lifestyle unique to Nakafurano, through encounters with Nakafurano's food and people.

Recent Activities

In February 2023, "Nakafurano Life" event will be held at 3×3Lab Future in Otemachi, Tokyo. The town mayor, town hall staff, local businesses, local entrepreneurs, and cooperative members will sell agricultural products and hold a dinner party using vegetables grown in Nakafurano.

Through the sales of agricultural products and the dinner party, participants exchanged opinions on Nakafurano's attractions and issues.

February 2023

Nakafurano Life" event was held at Tsutaya in Ebetsu City, Hokkaido.

Businesses in the town, local government officials, entrepreneurs for regional revitalization, and cooperative members made aroma sprays using lavender oil from Farm Tomita, sold baked sweets, and provided tourist information and immigration counseling.

March 2023

A monitoring tour will be conducted in Nakafurano.

Six people from outside the town, including participants of an event held in Tokyo in February, joined the tour.

Participants experienced life in Nakafurano in winter through snow removal, flower planting, snow activities, etc.
